Inspired by Caravaggio´s Narziss, a painting 1598 ­ 1599, which expresses more than other representations of his topic the mental attitude of the mythological figure Narziss. The figure of Narziss can be seen crouching near to a water, he seems to consider. Narziss is loaded with a vital importance, forcing me to complete the painting with regard to the mythology behind. What the painting lacks, is the completion of Narziss history, therefore Narziss dies by shock, when a stone falls into the Water reflecting his distorted face,because he believes, he has become ugly. In the 1,30 h Performance the artist (Nezaket Ekici) sits in front of a water basin, lookinginto it. A ray of light, set at the roof, spotlights the artist and a part of the water lying before her. With the help of a Camera a close-up of the artists face is projected live from the surface of the water to the wall in the next room. The artist throws from time to time stones into the water, which destroy the perfect reflection of her face for moments. As a result, the viewer sees the face blurred for moments on the projection.
