Concept
Although Schiele was initially influenced by the work of Gustav Klimt, he soon developed his own anticlassical style which emphasized hidden (spiritual) feelings rahter than aesthetics. This performance represents the similarities and differences between these two artists' ideas about Love and Death. The costume and decor derives from Klimt, who used many black-and-white patterns. The extreme expressions, grimaces and physical poses derive from Schiele.
