"Life Line"

Performance presented at the opening exibition: "Angekommen" Kunstmuseum, Stuttgart 6.3.2005

Concept

The performance "life LINE" connects two art buildings. The artist Nezaket Ekici moves on a red carpet and in her white dress of 8 m length from the art association to the new art museum in Stuttgart. Approximatly 60 carpet tiles (50 cm each) are carried by 4 assistants forward step by step from the rear to the front until the distance is bridged to the art museum. Arrived in the museum, the artist stays there for some time.

The "Life Line", which is manufactured by the artist, is to accompany the removal into the new house. The white dress symbolizes a new step in the life, which is solemnly committed. In a certain sense, the new art museum is married here with the art association. The way of life is not pre-determined or marked however, it must be constantly examined and adapted - the way itself is the art work.
