"Panta Rhei"
Performance Installation 2021, Premiere Live Performance "Panta Rhei" 6.11.2021, afterwards to be seen as installation with performance documentation until the end of the exhibition, anniversary exhibition "Bröhan Total!", Bröhan Museum, 16.10.2021-16.1.2022.

White pedestals are spread out in an entirely white room. On the floor lies objects made of porcelain and buckets filled with different colors. Picking up each object individually, Ekici dips each one in one of the 5 colors: red, blue, black gold, green. She then piles the objects on the pedestals according to the color they belong to. In the process of creating “Panta Rhei”, Ekici fills the previously white floor with color: the porcelain objects drip onto the floor, the pedestals themselves, and Ekici’s costume, where they merge with each other and create beautiful smeared ‘tie-dye’ adjacent mixtures. The more porcelain she piles on top of each other, the taller the resulting abstract, colorful sculptures become. Through her work, Ekici raises questions about the practice of collecting and how collections themselves are meaningfully formed. How do collections develop? What categorizations are found and invented for objects? What is the labor and pain behind collecting and letting go? The performance installation is part of the anniversary exhibition "Bröhan Total!”. (Text Edited: Jono Wang Chu)
