"Form it able - Berlin"

Solo Exhibition "Zitate" DNA Galerie, Berlin 3.9. - 16.10.2010 (Performance took place August 10, 2010 at Theaterforum Kreuzberg, Berlin)

Concept
The artist stands together with several models on pedestals, which are distributed in the space. On several music stands, selected artworks from the last 600 years can be seen. A voice from the off invites the visitors to reshape the models with their own hands following the presentation of the paintings. The viewer becomes an active part of the art work, while the artist and the models over the entire period of performance / installation remain passive. The viewer takes on the role of the sculptor in order to form the model after the original in a mimetic way. Thus, the viewer goes out not only from its passive role of a spectator, reducing him to a consumer, but he also learns by imitating great art works. Giving himself into the geometric image/model relation, the difference between the world of painting and the real things merge and leave the viewer with an experience of the painting in the third dimension. Art becomes a task of shaping and results in an overall picture of a sculpture park.
