Heaven Island, Tarabya Istanbul

Inspired by the Excavator, the artist Nezaket Ekici realized a new videoperformance. The Excavator is located since some weeks on the ground of the Culture Academy Tarabya , Istanbul for pipe work. It can be seen through her window, when it goes up and down and literally pushes to heaven. The bucket goes up high to the sky and enables someone standing in it to overlook to Bosporus and the sky. In her work the excavator bucket becomes her new home.Together with a plant, a bed sheet, a pillow and a lamp and an umbrella she makes the bucket her new home. She focuses the distance, always driven by the desire to be near to the sea and the sky. The bucket is a small living room where she can lie down look out to a never ending world.
