"LAB-Control - The Controlled Corridor"
Performance-installation for the exhibition of the same name, AkademieGalerie, Munich, 8-17.8.1999
A 40 metre long labyrinth in the form of a meander is installed in a mezzanine at Munich's 'University' Underground station. Three surveillance cameras are hidden within the wooden shaft. Everyone entering the shaft is recorded and the images relayed simultaneously to 3 monitors located in the Underground gallery. Visitors to the exhibition thus automatically become objects of surveillance. Throughout the exhibition, the artist presents various performances relating to this situation.
